If only this coat could talk, what would it tell us? Who was wearing this piece in harsh winter month of december 1944 in the middle of the cold wet snow covered Ardennes? What was going through their minds when this shell of a coat was keeping some of that harsh weather at bay? We don't know but what we do know is that this jacket was there and that this piece breaths history. Who put the upside down incomplete peace sign on it and the (purposefully?) misspelled text? We don't know and never will. Of the things we do know and which we can study there are som many great design choices like the way the clips are put to use, the double breasted closure flap and the seemingly many tins of wax or oil that went into every square centimeter of fabric on this coat. It is a true one of a kind and a tangible piece of history.
