Note – This bird died of natural causes in captivity and was mounted by a licensed (award-winning) taxidermist 


These birds are native to southwestern Ecuador and northwestern Peru, where they primarily live in jungle and deciduous forest. They are popular pet since they can be learned to talk quite well. Their status in the wild is under threat from the pet trade but in captivity it is a very common bird. Everybody loves parrots and this is very nice example why we do too.
