1944 N1 Deck Jacket waxed

Pike Brothers

Product

The N1 Deck Jacket is the perfect example of a military jacket finding its way into contemporary fashion and daily usage. This jacket was part of the standard American Navy equipment during World War II. It was originally coloured blue and known as the Tank Jacket. It was then released in khaki in 1944 and from that day on the N1 Deck Jacket became an international icon. It was there when the beaches of Normady were invaded and it was part of many operations in the jungles of the Pacific.

The jacket has a thick outer layer made of the so called 'Jungle Cloth' and consists of qualitative warm wool on the inside. The Pike edition is impregnated with three layers of wax. It is as waterproof and windproof as it gets which makes it a comfortable jacket even in poor weather conditions. Most importantly, this N1 Deck Jacket has the exact same characteristics as the original legendary jacket.

Pike Brothers was founded in 1930 by brother George and Joseph Pike. Their small yet high-quality clothing store was located in the famous Portobello Road, Notting Hill, in the heart of London. Custom clothing for men was their specialty. During the Second World War they produced uniforms for American military forces. This was the time when American soldiers came over to England. Pike Brothers managed to combine the best materials with European craftsmanship and create the unmistakable clothing you see today. They simply struck a brilliant balance between American workwear and European expertise. A legacy that defines Pike Brothers to this very day.

Pike Brothers distinguishes itself by respecting and celebrating the original functionality of its clothing instead of simply aiming for superficial succes.
